Sharbatly Building

Client: Ministry of Transportation Scope: Structural Strengthening Location: Giza, Egypt

Synchronized with the passage of the Tunneling Boring Machine used for the underground metro in the vicinity of the “Sharabatly” building, and after an unexpected malfunction in the machine, a large settlement of the soil occurred. As a result, the failure of one of the columns and large cracks in the walls and footings necessitated immediate rectification of the damage and implementation of a new system to restore safety and return it to service. A new foundation using micro-piles and soil injection accompanied by new concrete walls and concrete jackets for the columns and beams was implemented before allowing the tenants to utilize the building. Three weeks after the incident, we completed all the construction work.
