An emergency structural rehabilitation following major soil settlement caused by a tunnel boring machine malfunction near the Sharbatly Building, resulting in column failure and extensive cracking in walls and footings.
Cause
TBM malfunction -> Soil Settlement -> Column failure and structural cracking
Intervention Measures
- Installation of new micropile foundations
- Soil injection, and ground improvement
- Construction of new reinforced concrete walls
- Concrete jacketing for columns and beams.
